Peter I Rouble (1704), Kadashevsky mint, Bitkin-797 (R), Diakov-8 (R3), Sev-152, XF, Obv. Armored bust of Peter I right. Rev. Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date. Boldly struck, with rich gray patina and light marks on both sides. The first-year issue of Russian Roubles and one of the finer examples of this extremely rare issue we have seen.Ex: James Elmen, WWCC, T. Maroulis Collection, May 15, 2008, Lot 510, where it was described, "Rare first date Russian Ruble. Acquired from Sam Clements, Gothic Coins, Dec. 1977. Choice, deeply toned, about EF."
