Alexander I gilt-copper Medal 1814, by T.Wyon, on the visit of Grand Duchess Catherine Pavlovna to London, Diakov-383.1 (R1), Reichel-3291, 18.96g, 35mm, MS62 PCGS. Even though PCGS has listed this as a Mint State piece, it would seem to be a Proof striking. Obv. Laureate portrait of Alexander I right. Rev. Britannia seated left, holding trident and laurel branches, with date below in Roman numerals. Sharply detailed, with brilliant golden surfaces and fully mirrored fields. There are no no post-striking flaws, but the reverse displays a lengthy die-crack, from the edge above the H in HOSP, continuing through the A in BRITANNIA.
