Alexander II Proof Poltina (1/2 Rouble) 1875 CПБ-HI, St. Petersburg mint, Bitkin-119, Large Eagle, KM-Y24, Proof 63 NGC. Obv. Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle. Rev. Crowned date and value in wreath. Fully mirrored fields with a superb strike and moderate russet toning. An extremely rare issue, with only 14,003 regular issue coins total struck of the Large and Small Eagle variety. With a mintage this small, only a very few Proof coins must have been produced. NGC has certified only two pieces of this date in Proof and this if the finer of the two pieces. Ex: Sincona Collection, Part 1, October 9-12, 2012, Lot 1444.
