Charles II gold cob 8 Escudos 1670 S-M, Seville mint, KM61.2, Onza-153 ("Few specimens known"), AU50 NGC. A rather choice specimen of this crude and rare issue, showing but little wear and struck over a nice large flan, which allows for a full 4-digit date! A natural flan flaw running across the shield is not too distracting since it does not touch the mintmark nor the assayer's initial (M for Manuel Duarte). Much superior to the Onza plate coin and should attract strong interest.
Estimate: 7500-10000 USD
