Rama V Baht RS127 (1908), Paris mint, KM-Y39, MS66 NGC. One-year type. A classic Asian rarity, heralded for its strong portrait design of Rama V on the obverse, and even more so for its illustrative elephant head motif on the reverse. The present example, unlike any we have seen or heard of before, has been most-carefully kept, with minimal evidence of contact on the surfaces and pearly fields that hold light rose tone around many of the devices. Flashy mint bloom, aided by as-made die polish lines in the fields, further enhances the appeal. Magical in all respects, a search of online auction archives and census data didn't produce even a remote comparison - in fact, no other Mint State examples have been certified by PCGS or NGC! Perhaps unique in this condition and an obvious "coin to target" for the World Crown or Asian type enthusiast.

Estimate: 10000-15000 USD
