Republic 1/2 Centavo 1843, London mint, KM-Y2, MS61 Brown NGC. Some abrasions over the Liberty's bust, while the date side is very pleasant to behold. Although listed as a two-year type in the SCWC, the 1843 - struck in London, with the W(illiam) W(yon) initials below the bust - and the 1852 - struck in Heaton, without these initials -, should be classified as two separate types, as is done for the similar 1 Centavo pieces. Thus, this is a one-year type that is rare in Mint State.
Estimate: 1000-1500 USD
