MEXICO. "Hookneck" 8 Reales, 1824-Mo JM. Mexico City Mint. NGC AU-53.
HOH-MO12/MR12; KM-A376.2; DP-Mo02. Variety with superscript "s" of Dineros set high and superscript "s" above "G" of Granos nearly touching ray. Head of snake points to center of "R". Tip of eagle's left wing aligns with first leg of first "A" of "MEXICANA". Nicely preserved and attractive, this charming example offers a pleasing appearance with light gray tone and areas of richer coloration. The strike is somewhat soft in the centers, as is often the case with these issues, with plenty remaining luster. Original looking and wholesome example.
