MEXICO. "Hookneck" 8 Reales, 1824-Mo JM. Mexico City Mint. PCGS Genuine--Harshly Cleaned, VF Details.
KM-A376.2; HO-MO12/MR12; DP-Mo02. Variety with superscript "s" between "D" and dot and high above "G"; snake's head points to the center of "R" and eagle's left wing aligns with first leg of "A". This decently preserved survivor is a bright with hints of luster in the protected areas. The eagles breast is flat, as is typical for the issue, though the cap is nearly full with most of "LIBERTAD" visible. Inspection reveals evidence of a past cleaning on both sides, now slightly subdued. Despite its shortcomings a presentable example of this ever popular type.
Estimate: $500 - $700
