MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1855-C CE. Culiacan Mint. NGC UNC Details-Reverse Scratched.
KM-377.2; DP-Cn10. This nicely preserved and attractive example exhibits a strong strike with lustrous surfaces. Though the centers area touch weak as is typical for this date. Close inspection reveals a small area of thin scratches on the reverse above the left wing and right wing, somewhat subdued. Despite its shortcomings a handsome example of sneaky date.
According to Resplandores, this is the RAREST date of the late 1850s.
Estimate: $150 - $250
