HGC-1, 808; HN Italy-942; Vlasto-657. Obverse: Youth riding horse right, crowning himself; ΣA and ionic capital below; Reverse: Phalanthos, holding snake and whip, riding dolphin left; KON below. Lightly toned with abundant underlying brilliance. Well-centered on both sides, the strike delivers sharp details with very little evident circulation. A beautiful example of this seldom-seen type within the expansive Tarentine series.
