ATTICA. Athens. AR Tetradrachm, Epigen-, Sosandros, and Pythoni-, magistrates, ca. 126/5 B.C. ICG VF-30.
HGC-4, 1602; Thompson-457B. New Style coinage. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Owl, with head facing, standing right on overturned amphora; to left, eagle standing right on thunderbolt; K on amphora; all within wreath. This lightly toned new style Tetradrachm offers abundant eye appeal. Despite the evident circulation wear, the well-centered reverse displays strong details. A nice example of a problem-free nature.
Estimate: $300 - $500
