PHOCAS, 602-610. AV Solidus (4.51 gms), Constantinople Mint, 6th Officina, 607-609. NGC MS, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 5/5. Adjusted Flan.
S-620. Obverse: Draped and cuirassed bust facing, holding globus cruciger; Reverse: Angel standing facing, holding globus cruciger and long staff surmounted by staurogram; S//CONOB. Struck on a rather oversized flan, this issue needed some adjusting as noted in order to bring the weight down into the normal tolerance of the type. Highly brilliant and flashy, with a solid overall strike as well.
