CONSTANTINE X, 1059-1067. AV Histamenon Nomisma (4.34 gms), Constantinople Mint, 1062-1065. NGC Ch VF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Graffiti.
S-1847. Obverse: Christ Pantokrator seated facing on throne; Reverse: Constantine standing facing on dais, holding labarum and globus cruciger. While circulated and exhibiting graffiti on the peripheries of both sides, this piece was well-struck and displays strong details. Attractive reddish toning around the devices gives the coin added depth and definition. A charming example of this scyphate issue.
