BOLIVIA. Cob 8 Reales, ND (1589-95)-P. Potosi Mint. Philip II. NGC AU-55.
KM-5.1; Cal-675; Paoletti-98. Weight: 27.09 gms. This lovely silver Cob displays a satisfying strike and abundant originality. The Habsburg shield is well-centered and accompanied by the mintmark, assayer's monogram, and denomination in roman numerals. On the periphery, the monarch's name is intact. The reverse is just as wholesome, offering a cross in complete octolobes. The surfaces retain hints of brilliance beneath a nice medley of gray tones. A problem-free example that should please any collector of early Spanish colonial issues.
