KM-3. Type I countermark, crowned "240" in contoured frame. Applied to the reverse of a Spanish Colonial 4 Reales. Weight: 13.47 gms. Struck on an unidentifiable colonial Cob with areas of corrosion and numerous test cuts, this interesting issue nonetheless displays its countermark rather boldly. A nice example of this SCARCE type with much individuality.
