KM-242; LDMB-P450; Gomes-JR.115.02. Issued by decree of 1 September 1808 until 4 April 1810. Countermark: Bifacial denominated arms of the Portugal. Applied to a 1802-PTS PP Bolivia bust 8 Reales of Charles IIII (IV) (KM-72). Exhibiting unnatural glossiness across the portrait and fields, it is clear that this received a cleaning long ago. Graphite gray patina now rests across the surfaces, substantially enhancing the eye appeal of the reverse.
