BRAZIL. Brazil - Bolivia. Minas Gerais. 960 Reis, ND (1808). Serro Frio Mint. Joao as Prince Regent. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, VF Details; Countermark: EF Details.
KM-242; LDMB-P450; Gomes-JR.115.02. Issued by decree of 1 September 1808 until 4 April 1810. Countermark: Bifacial denominated arms of the Portugal. Applied to a 1807-PTS PJ Bolivia bust 8 Reales of Charles IIII (IV) (KM-73). Once cleaned, this countermarked crown has now toned over to a pleasing charcoal gray. The countermark and host are both well-struck and exhibit light handling. A delightful example despite its drawbacks.
