VENEZUELA. Caracas. 2 Reales, 1819-CARACAS BS. Caracas Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS Genuine--Tooled, Unc Details.
KM-C-6.1; Cal-732; Stohr-11A. Variety with lion in left upper quadrant. Immaculate quality for a local issue, possessing designs that are bold and evenly rendered, with a touch of darker hues at the highest points. While it could just as easily be considered a mark given its limited visual impact, the "tooling" must refer to a small field disturbance to the far right and beneath the uppermost wave on the obverse. Altogether, a rather RARE and charming specimen, and one that is sure to be highly prized by collectors seeking elite examples from this pivotal period in Venezuelan history.
Estimate: $1200 - $1700
