CHINA FREEDOM DOLLAR SUPPORT THE FEDERATION SAVE THE STUDENTS around anti-communist symbol on obverse (in Chinese) and reverse (in English) on Year 3 (1914) Yuan Shih-kai Dollar. The undertype is circulated but nicely detailed and lightly toned. The countermark provides an intriguing reflective luster. An interesting piece with great eye appeal.

These pieces were made following the 1989 Tiananmen Square incident in Beijing by the Berkeley Chinese Students & Scholars Association (B.C.S.S.A.) to help raise funds for Chinese exchange students stranded in the USA.
