Obverse: Bust of Louis XIV right, perimeter legend; Reverse: Louis XIV, standing in front of his throne, facing right, receives four petitioners, perimeter legend above, date in exergue below. This medal extols "easy access to the prince"; Louis began ruling personally in 1661 upon the death of his Chief Minister Mazarin.
