FRANCE. 5 Francs, 1847-BB. Strasbourg Mint. Louis Philippe I. PCGS MS-64+.
KM-749.3; Gad-678A. Dusted with iridescent golden-apricot toning complemented by magenta and sapphire accents, this is an exceptionally well preserved and attractive crown. Billowy luster flows over surfaces that are practically full Gem quality, while the strike is sharp to full. Strasbourg minted approximately eight times fewer pieces than Paris in 1847, and this coin is the sole finest PCGS has handled. VERY RARE and intensely desirable for series specialists, as opportunities like these almost never present themselves.
Estimate: $1500 - $3000
