Obverse: Bust of Marianne, facing right, with Phrygian cap, oak tree behind and above, city view of Paris in background at right, perimeter legend; Reverse: Victory flying left, with palm leaf and laurel crown, holding aloft a seated craftsman with torch; date at right, escutcheon with inscription below, view of the Grand Palais exposition building at lower left, perimeter legend. The 1900 Exposition introduced the world to Art Nouveau and was the setting for the second modern Olympic Games. A lovely Art Nouveau medal with an attractive ochre patina.
