By Charles Marey. 50mm. Engraved and awarded to Marius Chardon. Obverse: Bust of Marianne facing left, with laurel wreath and Phrygian cap, perimeter legend; Reverse: Escutcheon with inscription superimposed on a mixed palm and laurel wreath, six-line legend above. Cornucopia privy mark. Starting in 1849, L'administration générale de l'assistance publique à Paris has been responsible for all hospitals treating the sick, infirm, and elderly, in addition to the distribution of publicly-funded aid throughout the city.
