GERMANY. Saxony. 2 Mark, 1904-E. Muldenhutten Mint. Friedrich August III. PCGS MS-66+.
KM-1261; J-132. Bountiful lister, a sharp strike, and practically flawless surfaces would earn this piece premium Gem status all on their own, but PCGS likely considered the plus designation because of the spectacular bejeweled iridescence resting in the fields. A quick sweep of the flan under light reveals glistening pink garnet, sapphire, amethyst, and rich amber coloration, all exceedingly bright and dynamic. A pleasure to examine time and time again, the lucky numismatist who wins this piece will be proud of his acquisition.
Estimate: $200 - $400
