GREAT BRITAIN. Great Britain - Peru. Dollar (4 Shillings 9 Pence), ND (1797). George III. PCGS Genuine--Test Cut, VF Details; Countermark: VF Details.
S-3765A; KM-636. Authorized 9 March 1797. Countermark: Bank of England Type I; Raised bust of George III within oval indent. Applied to the obverse of a 1788-LIMAE IJ Peru bust 8 Reales of Charles III (KM-78A). Struck on a RARE host coin, this piece displays a rather charming miniature bust of the British king. A pleasing mottled gray tone covers the surfaces. While a test cut is noted at about 12 o'clock, it is small and isolated enough to avoid being a distraction. A charming example with even, moderate wear.

Estimate: $250 - $400
