GREAT BRITAIN. Death of Sir John Moore Bronze Medal, "1809" (1820). CHOICE UNCIRCULATED.
BHM-666; Eimer-994. By George Mills und Joseph Anton Couriguer. 41mm. Obverse: Bust of Lieutenant General Sir John Moore, facing left, perimeter legend; Reverse: Roman-style soldier at right protecting the stricken Moore, faltering at left, from a French eagle attacking from the upper right; perimeter legend above and exergue legend below. Number 14 in Mudie's National Series of Medals. Moore died from a cannon shot at the Battle of Corunna, fighting Napoleonic troops in Spain.
