Obverse: Bust of Sir Arthur Wellesley, later Duke of Wellington, facing right, perimeter legend; Reverse: Winged Victory, standing, offering wreaths to the British lion (which has snatched it in its mouth) and the French eagle, legend in exergue below. Note that two obverses were employed for this issue, this one by Donnadio and a very similar one by Mills. Large arcing die crack from the "W" of WELLINGTON to the "G". Number 16 in Mudie's National Series of Medals. Wellesley from given the title of Viscount of Wellington after this victory.
