GREAT BRITAIN. Capture of St. Sebastian Bronze Medal, "1813" (1820). UNCIRCULATED.
BHM-761; Eimer- 1036. By Thomas Webb and George Mills. 41mm. Obverse: Bust of Lord Lynedoch facing right, perimeter legend; Reverse: Roman centurion treading on miniature walls of the city, holding sword in right hand and crown in upraised left; burning building in left background, sinking ship in right background, legend in exergue below. Number 24 in Mudie's National Series of Medals. After the Battle of Vittoria, the sieges of Pamplona and San Sebastian took place. Two sieges were required to conquer San Sebastian, but the walls were breached on 31 August 1813.
