GREAT BRITAIN. Visit of the Sovereigns of Russia and Prussia Bronze Medal, "1814" (1820). CHOICE UNCIRCULATED.
BHM-854; Eimer-1050. By Raymond Gayrard and Jean Jacques Barre. 41mm. Obverse: Helmeted bust of Britannia left, perimeter legend at left; Reverse: Neptune, standing with trident and facing right, hand extended rightward to galley prow with double-headed eagle, closed Temple of Janus behind him at left, perimeter legend and legend in exergue below. Lightly lapped obverse die with die breakage between ringlets and truncation of neck as is typical for this particular issue; Gayrard's initials are almost indecipherable. Number 6 in Mudie's National Series of Medals. An attractive example of the issue with rich, glossy mahogany surfaces, with some light handling marks.
