Obverse: Britania seated left, holding pair of tablets, statue of Neptune on a pedestal at right, perimeter legend above and legend in exergue below; Reverse: Seven allegorical females of the seven Ionian Islands dancing around a flagpole flying the British flag, legend in exergue below. Number 40, the last medal in Mudie's National Series of Medals. Britain was given protectorate status of the Ionian Islands in one of the 1815 Treaties of Paris and a constitution was ratified on 26 August 1817.
