ITALY. Naples & Sicily (Naples). Coronato, ND (1458-94)-T. Ferdinand I of Aragon. PCGS AU-58.
MEC-14, 1005 var. (rev. legend); MIR-69/2; Biaggi-1674. "T" behind bust. Pearly luster crosses the steel gray surfaces, remarkably well preserved after over five centuries of existence. Strips of rainbow tone have developed near the edges of the flan, while traces of wear are difficult to detect, even across the highest points of the design. A decent strike portrays ample detail to boot, and this piece is tied with just one other as the finest in the PCGS population report.
Estimate: $150 - $300
