Obverse: Arms of Appenzell superimposed on a tripartite spray of garland; perimeter legend; Reverse: Citizen soldier standing, facing left, holding rifle at his feet, flora to right and left, landscape in the background; perimeter legend above. A magnificent high grade example of this issue which is listed by Richter as "Very Rare" in Richter, with a uniform matte finish and steel-gray patina.
