Obverse: Arms of Geneva superimposed on two crossed flags and two crossed rifles, encompassed within a mixed wreath of oak and laurel; "IHS" in sunbust above, perimeter legend; Reverse: Winged angel leaning on column, facing right, laurel branch in left hand, offering cup with right hand to a youth armed with a rifle who offers palm fronds in return; symbols of agriculture and industry on ground at left, city and landscape in background; anepigraphic. An outstanding example of nineteenth century allegorical (and armorial) engraving art on an extremely attractive specimen boasting champagne and aqua highlights on its lustrous surfaces.
