Obverse: Arms of Switzerland and Geneva superimposed on three flags inscribed with names of shooting societies, all over four crossed rifles and a mixed wreath of oak and laurel; perimeter legend above and below; Reverse: General Guillaume Henri Dufour, mounted on steed, advancing left; perimeter legend at left and right. Dufour led the Confederation forces in the brief Sonderbund civil war and was one of the founders of the International Red Cross. An attractive medal with old cabinet toning.
