Obverse: Arms of Geneva and Navigation superimposed on four crossed flags, two rifles, and a mixed wreath of oak and laurel, Swiss cross above and banderole above the cross; perimeter legend; Reverse: The new hall in the central field, legends above and to right; two rifles in the lower left foreground, and a grapevine along the rim from the 4:00 to 12:00 position. Les Exercises de l'Arquebus et de la Navigation is a shooting society that was founded in 1856 by the combining of two older societies dating from the 15th and 17th centuries. Construction of the "Hôtel" began in 1898 and was completed in December of 1899. A lovely example of this medal issue with attractive, uniform mahogany toning. Listed as "Rare" in Richter.
