Obverse: Bear, sitting upright and facing right, holding Swiss flag in its left paw, and Arms of St. Gallen in its right, city view in background at right; date above, legend in exergue below; Reverse: Robed woman awarding victory wreath to rifleman standing at left, cherub at right holding his target showing shots in the bullseye; architectural background, anepigraphic. Another attractive example of the Art Nouveau movement stretching the traditional medal into its plaquette form; lovely old cabinet toning. Comes with display box from before being certified.
