SWITZERLAND. Zürich City Shooting Society Free Shoot Silver Medal, 1892. PCGS SPECIMEN-64.
R-1752a; Martin-1038. By Hugues Bovy, Genf, and Freytag. 48mm. Obverse: Helmeted lion salient, facing right, with the flag of the shooting society in its left paw and its right paw on a coat of arms inscribed 1530, all superimposed on acanthus scrolls; perimeter legend; Reverse: Allegory of Zürich (Tigurina), seated and facing, her left hand on the head of a lion couchant, her right holding a palm branch and resting on the Arms of Zürich; eleven small coats of arms along the top perimeter, legend in exergue below. A very attractive example with lustrous argent surfaces with darker toning in protected areas and hints blue throughout. Listed as "Rare" in Richter.
