Philip IV cob 4 Reales ND-(NR), Nuevo Reino mint, KM2.2, Restrepo-M35, VF, clipped, 6.75 grams. A 4 Reales that was heavily clipped to the exact weight standard of the 2 Reales. In addition the clipping was made in a manner to leave only the two central "I"'s in the denomination to the right of the shield, which now appears as (I)II(I), correct for a 2 Reales! A curious specimen, since the clipping looks undeniably old and the coin appears to have circulated after the clipping was made, the exact weight and apparent denomination perhaps indicating the intention of passing it as a 2 Reales.
