Charles III gold 2 Escudos 1772 P-JS, Popayan mint, KM49.2, Restrepo-62, Almost Uncirculated. Struck from slightly rusty dies, but a high end example for this popular bust type, showing but minimal rubbing on the higher contact points and very close to Mint State. A small rim nick at 4 o'clock does note detract from its appeal. A very scarce grade for this issue, struck between 1772 and 1788 at the Popayan mint.
