Nicholas I gold 5 Roubles 1831 CПБ-ПД, St. Petersburg mint, Bitkin-6, Fr-154, KM-C174, XF Details (Damaged) NGC. Crowned double-headed eagle, with wings down, and date below. Rev. Crowned four-line inscription in wreath. A very unusual piece. The strike is extremely strong, with all details bold, even the shield on the eagle's breast, but, under magnification the fields have numerous small peck marks and it appears to have been cleaned by tumbling, as might be done by a jeweler.
