The Parthian Kingdom - Arsakes I (238-211 BC) - AR drachm (4.24 g.). Hekatompylos mint. Head left, wearing bashlik / Archer (Arsakes I) seated right on backless throne, holding bow; ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ to left, A to right. Lovely strike, slight surface roughness on bashlik. Well centred. Ref.: Sellwood 5.1 (Arsakes II); Shore 3 (Arsakes II). ex Peus Auction 376/377 #564) - XF. Rare. Note: Sellwood and Shore assign this coin to Arsakes II. But it now appears that it should be assigned to Arsakes I, as the Sellwood 5 reverses are frequently found paired with obverses from Sellwood 3 and 4 types, which were of Arsakes I.
