"Mahipatendra was the younger brother of Chakravartendra, who did not succeed to the throne after his father's death [in 1674]," according to Rhodes, "so these undated coins were probably struck during the lifetime of Pratap Malla [their father], perhaps after Chakravartendra Malla's death about AD 1669 and before his father resumed the throne after his pilgrimage, later in the same year."
