Germany - Federal Republic 1.8.1991 P-43a PMG Gem UNC 65 EPQ 500 Deutsche Mark
A nice example of the second highest denomination from the Federal Republic of Germany after reunification. Always a popular type with the portrait of Maria Sibylla Merian, a German naturalist who was one of the first to observe and describe insects, making her one of the first entomologists in the world. The 1991 issue was the first date of this type and would make for an excellent choice in an advanced high denomination European type set.
