Southwest Africa, Barclays Bank 29.11.1958 P-4b PMG Gem UNC 65 EPQ 10/- Shillings
Today known as Namibia, Southwest Africa was under South African control until 1990 when it finally gained its independence. A relatively small but important series of banknotes was issued by a number of private banks in the 1930s to the late 1950s, of which this is a 10/- Shilling from the Barclays Bank dated 1958, which was one of the final issues. Seen here with fantastic originality in Gem Uncirculated condition, this would make for an excellent addition to an advanced type or country set.
