Blacksmith copper "Anchor / Union Jack" Token ND (c. 1835) VF25 Brown NGC, Br-Unl., Charlton-BL-53A2. Thin flan, copper variety. Described as "extremely rare" in Charlton, and the sole graded example for this variety in current NGC census. Allegedly the dies were purposely left unfinished to create the appearance of a badly worn token, and darkened, presumably by overheating, to create the illusion of age. Regardless, a rather irresistible offering for the dedicated collector of Canadian Colonial Tokens.
