Obv: Caliph standing facing, placing his right hand on the pommel of his sword and whip hanging from his right elbow; downwards to left, Amir al-Mu'minin (Commander of the Faithful in Kufic); downwards to right, Khalifat Allah (Caliph of Allah in Kufic).
Rev: Transformed cross standing on three steps; in right field, ma'arrat in Kufic; in left field, misrin in Kufic; around, part of the first Kalima reading la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu Muhammad Rasul Allah (There is no God but Allah alone, Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah in Kufic).
