KINGS OF MEDIA-ATROPATENE. Artavasdes (circa 56-30 BC). AE Dichalkon of Parthian style, apparantly struck during his alliance with Phraates IV against Marc Antony. Ganzak or Phraaspa mint.
Obv: Draped bust of Artavasdes to right, wearing three-pointed Armenian tiara decorated with two Victories supporting a globe: behind, Nike flying right crowning the king.
Rev: BACIΛEΩC - BACIΛEΩN - APTAYAZΔOY - EYEPΓETOY.
Artavasdes, on the right, standing left, holding spear and receiving wreath from Tyche, on the left, kneeling right.
