CORINTHIA, Uncertain colony. Circa 375-300 BC. AR Stater (21mm, 8.55 g, 2h). Pegasos flying left / Helmeted head of Athena left; ax behind neck. Ravel 1119 ('barbares'); Pegasi I 494 ('emissioni barbariche'); BCD Corinth 140 (Corinth). Underlying luster, some marks and die wear. Good VF. Rare.

The BCD catalog placed this issue late among the emissions of Corinth, assuming that the ubiquitous koppa of the ethnic was not visible from the obverse of that example. However, this well preserved example would certainly show the koppa if it were present in the die, so it must not have been present; suggesting the coin is an issue from one of the many Corinthian colonies.
