KINGS of ARMENIA. Tigranes II 'the Great'. 95-56 BC. AR Drachm (21mm, 4.43 g, 12h). Artaxata mint. Dated RY 35 (59 BC). Draped bust right, wearing tiara with star and eagles / Tyche of Antioch seated right on rock, holding laurel branch; below, river-god Orontes swimming right; EΛ (year) above arm, ς (month) to right of palm. SCADA Group 5, dies a9/p21; Kovacs 105.7 corr. (no letters in exergue); M&D 63; CAA 61 corr. (same); DCA 431 (unlisted date; 76/5 BC on Armenian Era dating). Toned, some weakness to strike, trace deposits, die break on obverse. Near VF. Rare.
