KINGS of PERSIS. Šabuhr (Shahpur), son of Pāpag (Papak). Circa AD 211/2-213. AR Hemidrachm (17mm, 1.88 g, 10h). Istakhr (Persepolis) mint. Bearded bust of Šabuhr left, wearing diadem and Parthian-style tiara decorated with pellet-in-crescent; triple pellets before tiara / Bearded bust of Pāpag left, wearing diadem and Parthian-style tiara with leaf ornament; triple pellets to right of tiar. Cf. van't Haaff, Persis, Type 655e/a (obv./rev.); K&M 6/1; Alram 655; Sunrise 688. Toned with minor iridescence, deposits, slight doubling. VF. Very rare.
